Scale with timer
BREW TIME
3 minutes
Ratio for 1 cup- 1:16 (15gm of coffee to 240gm of water)
STEP 1
Heat the water to 93C. While the water heats, set the grinder to the medium setting and grind 15gm of coffee to resemble the coarseness of sea salt.
STEP 2
Place the V60 on a cup and put the filter in it. Pre-wet the filter by pouring hot water using the spouted kettle. Discard the filtered water and put the ground coffee into the filter. Gently tap the V60 to level the grounds. Place the entire setup onto a digital scale and set it to zero.
STEP 3
Start the timer. To begin, bloom the coffee by pouring 30gm of water over the coffee in concentric circles. This should take 15 seconds. Wait for the timer to hit the 45-second mark before starting the second and final pour.
STEP 4
Pour the remaining 210gm of water slowly in concentric circles. If you've poured correctly, your timer should hit 1:30 minutes when you've finished pouring. The coffee will slowly drain into the cup. Remove the V60, discard the filter and give the coffee a gentle swirl.
